This product goes have some innovative features that do set it apart. Geared towards gamers, this mouse seems to be one of the most attractive solutions out there. The Equalizer is in fact made up of two models noted as the "desktop" and "mobile" models.
The only visible difference is the size of the mice. OCZ has never been unified with their box designs. Every product has had different art work or theme. It could be bent just a TINY bit more like a Logitech right handed mouse, but it's really nothing to complain about. That's just what I'm used to. I guess the wire could break, but man, just how light it is I give that a PRO. I love the skinny wire! I don't play hardcore shooters, and I don't care to adjust my mouse sensitivity on the fly.
I do a lot of gaming and so far this mouse has been great. I came from a Logitech G5 1st revision which was good, but for the price, so far this thing blows the Logitech away. Awesome mouse so far. Pros: That triple button works just like you've expect, great.
Overall Review: Overall it's a good mouse, it has more dpi than my expensive mx, and the triple button takes some used to. The lower score is due to the fact that I can't take this wonderful mouse and use it on vista. I knew of the bat it only worked on xp, but c-mon Pros: This mouse has a lot of good features. It is Teflon coated so it resisted the oils from your hand. The mouse also comes with six extra feet on the bottom. Oh and if you check the OCZ website you'll learn this mouse has a six year warranty.
The cord is thin, but I consider this a pro because it doesn't drag you down. It feels like using a wireless mouse. Cons: When you pick the mouse up it doesn't always go where I want it to, this might just be an adjust period for me though.
Also when I first plugged the mouse in the cursor was very jumpy, I had to install the drivers in XP SP3 and go the software's Motion tab. There is a check box that is labeled "Enhance cursor precision" that seemed to fix the jerky cursor. Overall Review: The triple threat button is neat. I've only tried it out in Left 4 Dead. With a single hand gun the triple threat fires two rounds, with dual pistols it fires three rounds lighting fast. It fires the auto shot gun twice very fast, as well as the m sniper rifle.
It fires the M in three shot burst what it is supposed to do. All in all I like the triple threat button, it just doesn't always work for every gun in every game. But the triple threat button can be used to open applications from Windows with one click.
Pros: Perfect for first person shooter games which is all I play. I have no idea why you would spend more when this one will do everything that you want it to. It looks cool, has a thin cable that makes it feel wireless, and has more than enough buttons.
Overall Review: If you have tons of money to waste, go more expensive. If you don't have a day job, and spend all of your time playing games like WWC, you might want one with more buttons:. Pros: I love the feel of this mouse. There is a rubberized textured thumb grip on the right side. The tracking is very sharp and quick. The rapid fire button is a headshot machine at medium to long range. The grouping of the shots fired by the rapid fire button are so close together that you could easily put them all within someone's head at yards.
The mouse wheel could be a little more stiff but it changes color with the DPI changes which is sort of cute I guess. So far the cord isnt an issue because I have it plugged into an extension thats sitting right on top of my desk and the mouse cord is very thin so as to almost feel like a wireless mouse but without the lag.
Cons: its blue No rubberized pinky grip on the right side. The rapid fire button could be a little bigger and the little plastic nibs on it get pointy on your finger after a while. The laser is way too far back on the mouse so you have to pick the whole thing up off the desk to move your hand should you move too far and come off the mouse pad or have the tracking set low and prefer to pick up your hand. If it were at the top almost under the buttons you could almost leave it in the middle of the pad and rotate the top to aim Also since it has no 64bit support I had to format my boot partition to install the software Though I never swapped it much while playing.
Overall Review: This mouse broke yesterday, but that's not a con. It's 4 years old, and has been working all this time! I'd love to buy another, but they're all gone. Cons: bits of fussys and dust get caught in between the clicky parts, but what mouse dosnt have that problem. Pros: Great mouse for the average computer user and is great for gamers.
With the triple click button for FPS games works great. Also the on the go dpi change comes in handy. Its smooth and I have never had a problem with any of the buttons.
